The FLIR A400 delivers a measurement accuracy of ±2°C (±3.6°F) or ±2% of the reading, whichever is greater. This accuracy applies within an ambient temperature range of 15°C to 35°C and for object temperatures above 0°C, making it suitable for most industrial and research monitoring scenarios.

The A400 and A500 models measure from -20°C to 120°C, 0°C to 650°C, and 300°C to 1500°C. The A700 extends the upper range to 2000°C, enabling high-temperature process monitoring in applications such as furnaces, metal processing, and other extreme industrial environments.

The FLIR A400 supports EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, MQTT, REST API, RTSP (unicast and multicast), GigE Vision, and optional ONVIF. This broad protocol support enables seamless integration into HMI/SCADA systems, VMS platforms, IoT infrastructure, and custom industrial automation software environments.

The Smart Sensor version performs edge analytics directly on the camera, reducing reliance on external servers and offering IIoT-ready outputs via Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and MQTT. The Image Streaming version streams raw radiometric data via GigE Vision and GenICam for integration with third-party machine vision SDKs and software platforms.
