The FLIR A40 supports a comprehensive suite of industrial and IIoT protocols including EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, MQTT, and RESTful API. It also supports IEEE 1588, SNMP, RTSP, HTTP/HTTPS, SFTP, FTP, SMTP, DHCP, and more — enabling seamless integration into existing plant automation and cloud-based monitoring architectures.

The FLIR A40 carries an IP66 rating per IEC 60529, meaning the camera is fully protected against dust ingress and powerful water jets. Its rugged aluminium housing also meets ISO 12944 C4 corrosion resistance standards, making it suitable for harsh outdoor and industrial indoor environments.

Yes. The FLIR A40 supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) per IEEE 802.3af Class 3, drawing approximately 8.1 W. This simplifies installation by allowing a single Ethernet cable to carry both data and power. It also supports external DC power at 18–56 V DC via a dedicated M12 connector.

The FLIR A40 offers two object temperature measurement ranges: -20°C to 250°C (-4°F to 482°F) for standard industrial monitoring, and 175°C to 1000°C (347°F to 1832°F) for high-temperature process applications such as furnace or molten material monitoring. Accuracy is ±2°C or ±2% of reading.

The FLIR A40 can trigger alarms via digital outputs, email (SMTP), EtherNet/IP, FTP file transfer, Modbus TCP server, MQTT messaging, RESTful API calls, and on-camera image or video storage. It includes 3 opto-isolated digital outputs (0–48 V DC, max 350 mA), one dedicated as a fault output (normally closed).
