MoviTHERM Develops Technology to Help Recycling Facilities Detect Fires

MoviTHERM is the first in the market to introduce a low capital cost solution to metal recycling facilities who want to prevent costly fire outbreaks and maintain a safe working environment. With an emphasis on recycling, facilities are seeing more lithium-ion batteries end up in their waste stream. This becomes a concern, as when lithium-ion batteries are broken or crushed, they can become hot, start to smoke, and catch fire. MoviTHERM has created a cloud-based solution that is easy to install, provides automated alerts, and optimizes safety to not only employees at the metal recycling facility, but all surrounding neighborhoods as well.

Biomass Power Generation Facilities are Finding Ways to Prevent Fire Damage

Biomass Facilities are Finding Ways to Mitigate Fires

Biomass Power Generation Facilities,

Biomass Power Generation facilities are finding ways to mitigate and prevent fire damage. Unfortunately, detecting early-stage fire formation within a biomass bulk pile is difficult. Therefore facilities are resorting to implementing the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) with early fire detection technologies, like infrared (IR) cameras. IR camera systems are the first to alert before a fire develops. They see a warming-up of material early in the fire development process before forming smoke particles or flames. Fire safety is an area that can realize the benefits of IIoT when combined with infrared camera systems. By connecting sensors that alert at different stages of fire development and varying conditions for fire formation, potential fires can more readily be detected and prevented.

Body Temperature Cameras – MoviTHERM’s CEO Shares Thoughts on the Dying Market

Markus Tarin Shares His Thoughts on ETS in Article

covid-19 screening, Body Temperature Cameras,

What was once a pandemic lifesaver is now struggling to keep its head above float from the new Covid wave called Omicron. Body temperature cameras are not pulling in the same numbers as they were back in 2020. Though “cases are doubling every 1.5 to 3 days in areas with community transmission”, according to WHO, the market just isn’t as interested as they were when the pandemic was just starting. William Pao, from asmag.com, writes about the substantial decrease in demand for body temperature cameras, some companies even calling it a dead market. Our CEO, Markus Tarin, shares his thoughts on why the market may be seeing a decrease even through the new Omicron wave.

New Camera Enclosure for FLIR A400/A500/A700/GF77a

MoviTHERM Announces the Introduction of a New Camera Enclosure for FLIR A400/A500/A700/GF77a Cameras

MoviTHERM has entered into a distribution agreement with AutoVimation, a camera enclosure manufacturer from Germany. AutoVimation has recently released a new front cover for their Megalodon line of enclosures. This new front cover contains a Germanium window as well as a standard glass window matched to the camera optics of the FLIR A400, A500, A700 and the GF 77a cameras.

autovimation megalodon FLIR A400 A700 A500 GF77These cameras tend to run very hot as part of their normal operation. So it is very difficult to place these cameras into a standard thermal camera enclosure, as this may cause a thermal runaway situation. A thermal runaway is a situation where the heat from the camera warms up the surrounding air and the enclosure too quickly, causing the camera to eventually overheat. The Megalodon enclosure series addresses this issue with an advanced thermal management design, thus keeping the camera within the recommended operating range specified by the manufacturer.

It is true that the FLIR A400, 500, 700 and GF77a cameras are inherently protected from the elements. These cameras in conjunction with a special lens cover “IR Hood” can be operated in outdoor environments. However, it is still sometimes advantageous to protect these valuable assets with an extra layer of safety. The Megalodon enclosure does exactly that and provides the proper heat sinking required for these cameras.

MoviTHERM also provides a wide variety of enclosure accessories with the Megalodon enclosures. These accessories include numerous mounting brackets, IR-Mirror attachments to fold the image path into 90 degrees, pneumatic shutter options to protect the front window from flying debris (i.e. in shredder applications), a sun shield as well as a heating plate for cold weather installations. We offer accessories for just about any application.

Megalodon Accessories

MoviTHERM is excited about this offering for the new camera enclosure for FLIR A400/A500/A700/GF77a. We are committed to providing continual value-added solutions for our customers. We are further excited about our new distribution partnership with AutoVimation!

About AutoVimation

AutoVimation produces protective camera enclosures and an extensive range of accessories that allows to use machine vision systems in virtually any environment. The enclosures are as variable as the applications: from the extremely compact Colibri to the Mammoth – from easy to integrate dovetail enclosures to to high grade stainless steel Feuersalamander in hygienic design – there is a solution for every application. Thanks to autoVimation’s patented heat-guide / quick-lock camera mount the outer enclosure works like a heat-sink to the camera. Thus the camera system can be used at up to 20°C higher ambient temperatures. Water cooling systems and enclosures with Peltier-climatisation are available in order to extend the temperature range further. The „Machine-Vision Construction Kit“ matching all dovetail enclosures makes it easy to integrate cameras and lights and other components into a machine – using pre-fabricated parts, avoiding design time, and allowing simpler adjustment to the application. This counts as well for steadily increasing non- industrial applications.
