MoviTHERM now offers Single Camera MIO Series Intelligent I/O Module

MoviTHERM announced an expansion to their MIO Series Intelligent I/O lineup for remote thermal monitoring applications.

The new, lower-cost single camera MIO Series Intelligent I/O modules (“MIO”) join the existing 7 camera product line. MIO is an Ethernet based thermal imaging module that adds analog and digital output capabilities to FLIR® AX8, A310(f), and FC-Series R thermal cameras.

The MIO I/O modules provide connected FLIR® cameras with the ability to alarm if a configured temperature threshold is being breached. The new, low-cost single camera unit automatically connects to a configured FLIR® camera on the network, looks up the designated region or area of interest (ROI), and starts monitoring.

Two analog (4 to 20mA) current loop signals and two digital (alarm) outputs are provided per each device. The alarm outputs as well as the current loop outputs update continuously in real-time, enabling a complete, turn-key embedded monitoring solution.

An intuitive web server interface provides the user with a quick and easy way to configure or change alarm thresholds.

Infrared Imaging Article published by Vision Systems Design

The Vision Systems Design magazine has published an infrared imaging article, authored by Markus Tarin, President & CEO of MoviTHERM.

In his latest educational article, titled:”Choosing a camera for infrared imaging”, Mr. Tarin walks the reader step-by-step through available camera and detector technologies and explains important technical specifications. Non-visible imaging is a much more complex subject matter than standard, visible machine vision. The user can choose between different detector types for different applications and wavelengths. However, the selection process is littered with possible pitfalls that could lead to costly mistakes, if any of the technical specifications are being misinterpreted.

It is meant to expand the reader’s technical background with respect to infrared imaging. FLIR releases new and improved A35/A65

New and Improved Infrared Cameras from FLIR (A35/A65)

improved A35/A65, New FLIR A65 A65 Version 2016August 29, 2016 – FLIR Systems, Inc. announced new improved A35/A65 thermal imaging temperature sensors for machine vision.

Designed for process control and quality assurance – but applicable to condition monitoring and fire prevention as well – the upgraded A35 and A65 cameras can help processes run smoother. The A35 and A65 include greater vibration specifications to survive harsher conditions. The cameras are available with 10 field-of-view options, from 8 degrees up to 90 degrees, to give users the option to pinpoint a single target or monitor a large area. The A35 and A65 are the leaders in digital communication standards, offering GigE Vision™ compatibility and GenICam protocol support.

FLIR’s A35 and A65 thermal imaging temperature sensors are available now through established FLIR sales channels, starting at $4,995 for the A35 and $7,895 for the A65.

FLIR has also added additional lens options to both, the FLIR A35 and the FLIR A65 cameras. Previously, there were only two lens choices each, the 25 degree and the 45 degree. The additional lens options provide wider and more narrow field of view options for both camera models. The wider angle lenses open up applications where the camera has to be placed very close to the object, while maintaining a decent image size. The narrow angle (telephoto) lens options allow the camera to be placed much further away, without sacrificing resolution. MoviTHERM MIO SeriesSpecialist stockist of thermal imaging technology, Thermal Vision Research (TVR) has just signed the first UK distributor deal for the award-winning MoviTHERM MIO Series modules for FLIR cameras, with California-based thermography business MoviTHERM.

TVR saw an opportunity to introduce this new technology to the UK market, potentially saving FLIR camera users thousands of pounds on acquiring and maintaining complex supporting infrastructure.
